Sophomore offering from Tom Chasteen's Natural Numbers project following up on 2014’s Natural Numbers In Dub which also came out on Stones Throw. The Dub Club co-founder steps up with this traditionally-rooted but forward facing full-length which pays homage to Jamaica’s rich musical heritage while demonstrating the contemporary scope the sound continues to hold. With vocal turns from the likes of Lone Ranger, Ranking Joe?, Tony Tuff and Edi Fitzroy the whole record is an experimental dub playground. The finale, Dawn Observation, plays out like a dazed recollection of the sounds heard earlier in the LP. Swarming guitars, abstract composition and an air of psychedelica rounding off this informative and innovative album.
