If I Can't Sell It 11. Nobody Knows You 12. Pennies From Heaven Everything Karen touches is wonderful and this is no exception. She handles this music that is almost a century old and breathes a fresh new life into it. For some, it's hard to listen to scratchy bad recordings from the prohibition era( the late 20's and early 30's) , which sadly is all we have. It's a nice treat to hear someone who understands the music..bring forth a modern quality recording with the same attitude and life that the original artists who created the music intended it to have. Karen has succeeded in making "living history" in a form that a new, more selective generation can enjoy. Especially love the tongue-in-cheek " If I can't Sell it" it's a classic example that our grandparents ( and GREAT grands) most likely were NOT the angels they are revered as being( grinning) Highly recommended. - by paulaharris | |
