The band was formed in 1976 in Gdansk at the Student Club "Medic" at the initiative of the guitarist Kevin Sparrow and harmonica player Zbigniew Laskiego. Pretty soon the original group name "Blues Band" at the instigation of Martin Jacobson was changed to "Mietek Blues Band". In 1977 the team moved to the Gdansk University of technology "Artem", where they played regularly for several years, until the introduction of martial law. Former band members include: Zbigniew "Oliver" Laski, Mietek Sparrow (guitar), John Gostomski (drums), Zdzislaw Karasowski (bass). When the bass into the army was replaced by Zbigniew Sentowski-vocalist and bassist. In 1979, the band was joined by guitarist Anthony Degutis.
